There was so much happening in Week 8 that we needed two full posts to get it all in there. How about a throat to lung connection, a longer and straighter torso, elbows and shoulders developing, longer arms and legs, and there is a much more developed umbilical cord that now has three distinct blood vessels. The main and central blood vessel brings fresh blood loaded with nutrients and is oxygen rich to the growing fetus, while the two auxiliary cords return the left overs back to the placenta. Still, with all of this fetal development, that kid has a giant head!!!! That melon takes up almost half of the baby's body mass and for Antoinette's sake, let's hope that ratio changes prior to birth!!!!
