The best news of the day is that Antoinette has completed the 6th week of her pregnancy today. During this past week, Antoinette was very busy. She has begun developing the baby's eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. The baby's hearbeat should have started this week, although it would still be too weak to hear on an ultrasound. That beating heart is beating twice for every single beat in your own chest. The developing arm and leg buds from the beginning of the week have begun taking on the shape of fishlike flippers, and soon will begin forming individual fingers and toes. The baby wrapped up this week at roughly 1/8th of an inch long, or about the size of a sprinkle on a donut. Now you know why Antoinette has been so sleepy lately and why her appetite has doubled. Even when she's sitting still, she's really quite busy!!!
