Since finding out that little Billy was little Billy, and not little Lilly (we hadn't picked a girls name yet, so just roll with it), a lot has happened already. The little guy is now about 6 inches long and weighs just under a half pound. Hard to believe that over the next four and a half months, he's going to grow 16 times larger than he is now. Wow!!! Antoinette's belly is clearly showing at this point and her uterus is easily felt just one inch or so below her belly button. I'd show you the picture, but the camera ran out of batteries, so I'm picking some up tomorrow. That means you'll get a belly pic in the next update.
While most women have experienced about 14 pounds of weight gain at this point, Antoinette is lucky if she's gained 7 pounds. Doc says that's OK because different women experience different amounts of weight gain throughout the different phases of pregnancy. On average, most women have about a 7 ounce baby, 6 ounce placenta, 11 ounces of amniotic fluid, 12 ounces in breast tissue growth, and 11 ounces in additional uterine tissue. That totals 47 ounces of baby related weight gain, or just 3 pounds. Weight gain at this point can begin to throw off a woman's equilibrium and make it easier to lose her balance, making her feel clumsy. It can also affect posture and make if difficult to sleep.
As for future pictures, they may be tougher to come by since gender has been "assigned". Doesn't make much sense to show you a picture of a baby girl at this point that is anatomically correct when we are having a boy. Since the number of baby pictures I have for future updates are cut in half, I will be substituting in baby room updates as the room comes together, pictures of baby items added to the arsenal, and Antoinette's belly pics. We'll play it by ear and see how it goes.
